SPACE CLEARING

Feng Shui is the art and science of improving the energy flow (ch'i) of an environment through the use of architecture, design, furniture placement, and transcendental cures.

Space Clearing, the art of cleansing and consecrating buildings, is a specialized branch of Feng Shui. It is a ceremony which cleanses and purifies the space at an even deeper level. Space clearing uplifts the quality of the energy of a space to a higher level and clears it of all stagnant and low energy, as well as psychic debris.

The benefits of Feng Shui will be achieved faster and more efficiently when it is done in conjunction with Space Clearing. Space Clearing ceremonies are common in many cultures in India, China and Indonesia. We have borrowed many of the tools and traditions of these cultures in creating a ceremony that is enjoyable and effective in our modern society.

Everything that happens in a building is energetically recorded in the walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, etc. When an event, conversation, argument, celebration, etc. takes place in a building, the energy ripples outward creating a ripple or wake. Imagine being on an airplane, and viewing the wake from a cruise ship on the ocean.

The energy creates a wake that ripples out for many miles, having an energetic effect on the entire ocean. Negative, or low energy tends to "stick" to corners, and gravitates toward nooks and crannies in the same way that dust and cobwebs do when a place is not physically cleaned. If negative emotions or events repetitively occur in a building, they can create an energy pattern or imprint. History tends to repeat itself if these energy patterns are not cleared. If you have ever walked into a room after a heated argument has taken place, one often says, "you could cut the tension with a knife". This is a good example of how negative energy experienced in a place can create a dense, negative feeling even after the event has taken place.

Space Clearing greatly enhances Feng Shui placement. In addition, it is extremely beneficial in consecrating a place before moving in. Other benefits include clearing areas in your life where you feel "stuck", clearing recurrant problems in relationships, and removing residual energy from previous occupants. It can be very instrumental for use in physical and emotional healing, after an illness, if there has been death or divorce, or simply to manifest your life's desires, and increase your vitality.

It is recommended to do a space clearing ceremony at least once a year. Just as "spring cleaning" keeps a space physically clean, space clearing will keep a building energetically clean and clear. When the energy in our environments are clear, all aspects of our lives function better.
